RE: NASCAR Busch East Weekend July 25-27, New Bremen, NY

Denny gonna be there? Farmer Brown?
I have a sales meeting on Thursday next week at 10. Won't be leaving till about noon. :(
Getting excited!
Looks like I have a bit of work on Thursday now as well. We'll get the campers in either Wednesday night or early Thursday, then off to work for a bit, then back to start the weekend!

Good Morning Sharyl! Good to hear from you.
We're off to Old Forge today, camping with old friends who are new RV'ers. Should be a great weekend!
Next weekend it's the NASCAR Camping World Series at New Bremen, NY.

RE: depreciation

$80,000 sticker price or $80,000 purchase price? Not much drops faster than the first % of sticker.

RE: Lighting for new RV Building

Our garage is 32' x 48' w/ a 16' ceiling. I have 80' of fluorescent tube around the outside walls along with another 12' of fluorescent tube over the workbench and in the utility room. I also have (2) 400 watt metal halide lights in the ceiling. It's NICE! and bright. :C
Here is an interior picture; the lights are at the plywood/metal split.

RE: Motorhome preferences! Options?

I think you'll be hard pressed to find a 2 sofa, side isle in a 36' or shorter MH - of any kind, but you might. :B The 2 sofa era just started a few years ago, for the most part, and getting a 2 sofa with the kitchen slide is going to be even harder to find.
Here is one that meets some of your goals, but it's a split bath 1 sofa model. Oops, it doesn't have a booth either, but that would be easy to install.

RE: Allegro bus driving experience

40 footers are at the edge of usefulness and have a low CCC. They have stability issues due to the high loading on the suspension.
:h Must be that extra 6" changes a lot. Ours is only 39' 6" but it has 3251 # CCC and drives like a dream.
As to the OP, something doesn't sound right. Check the air pressures, as an unloaded coach with tires set for loaded conditions certainly will not be nearly as smooth.
Also what chassis was it riding on, as I believe both Spartan and Freightliner were offered on the Bus in '07 (and newer) - although both would be IFS if I remember correctly.

RE: New coach at the Los Angeles FMCA show

I was good to go sitting here dreaming about that bad boy till I seen that Maytag refer in the photo gallery. Noooooooooo thanks.
It's OK to start dreaming again; from the list of standard equipment:
NorcoldĀ® 17 Cu. Ft. Four-Door Refrigerator with Auto Defrost, Icemaker and Water Dispenser
Now I have to ask, why no Maytag refer? Is it because of a residential refer in the coach or is it a problem with Maytag? Just wondering...

RE: The Gathering at Gettysburg May 14th-17th, 2009

This passed me in South Carolina on the way home from Florida. So did Juniors.

I'm betting the money truck did too. Another Great American Icon sold to another foreign company. Sad...:( Are there any American owned big businesses left?
Oh well, another reason to keep enjoying my favorite!

RE: Full Body Paint Designs?

It Is Not any easier to keep clean and waxed! They have to be washed and waxed just like the Older Plain Ones!
The Fact is that Newer units that have Full Paint Jobs are just cleaner and shinier for now ! Give them 10 Years they will be Faded Too!
Don't New Owners just naturally keep Their Rigs cleaner?;)
Spoken like someone without a clue about FBP. :S
Believe me, once you have it you would never even consider owning a non-FBP coach.
Fade in 10 years? Another obvious statement you have no idea what todays base coat/clear coat systems are all about.
Easier to clean, easier to care for, easier to take care of light scratches. No full body paint? No thanks.

RE: Why so many Four Winds on market

Cheap..............$$$$
I Beg to differ with you. OP was looking for a Class C.
They are very well made and certainly not cheap.
As far as the ENTRY level Class A Four Winds. I would agree with you.
You see a higher percentage of them for sale vs others.
I don't know about Ontario but in the US I have noticed just the opposite of what you stated. There seems to be an abundance of Coachman versus the others.
I took his post to mean "value priced", not cheaply made.

Yeah but the KB supporters say thats nothing the Old Man wouldn't have done. Shows how little these Johnny-come-lately fans know about racing. :(

RE: Tiffin Bay FRED diesel or Phaeton?

The Pheaton is a true diesel with all of the benefits; full air ride, air brakes, HD Allison transmission, etc.
The FRED is a nice option, but basically a gasser type chassis with a diesel engine.
Of those 2 it would be the Pheaton - without question.

RE: Love it or Hate it?

First one: 1980 Itasca SunCruiser - loved it! (lots of upgrades and a little "road maintenance")
Second one: 1990 Fleetwood Flair - the motorhome from hell. Had it been the first one there never would have been a second. (lived at the repair shop)
Third one: 2000 Newmar Dutch Star gasser - loved it! (1 trip back to the dealer in 3 years)
Forth one: 2003 Newmar Kountry Star DP - loved it! (5 years, zero trips back to the dealer. There were a few minor items but nothing worth the 4 mile (yes, 4 miles) trip back)
Fifth one: 2008 Newmar Kountry Star DP - love it! (Almost a year old, never been back, have done absolutely NOTHING to it other than enjoy!)

At your local Dodge Dealers! (Where Donna says it will stay!):(
The 2008 Dodge CHALLENGER! Wow! What a freaking car! Limited production. Numbered on the dashboard. Jay Leno supposedly got #2. This one is in the 2500's.
I don't think I'd be sleeping in the doghouse if I came home with this. I think I'd be pulling something out of my...well....nevermind. :e
Dodge did a great job though!
Sticker was about $35,000. (Scroll down)
